We'll be at the Concrete Cow convention this weekend in Milton Keynes.

You can look at their web detail here:
http://wiki.mk-rpg.org.uk/Index.php/ConcreteCow

Department 7 will be running several demos of Starblazer and Dr Who,
and, of course, Victoriana

We will also have a stand at the show, so there is another chance to get hold of Starblazer or Victoriana in softcover.

More First Edition Madness [Sep. 9th, 2008|04:18 pm]

So I've got another question about first edition. I have a character with ambidexterity, and as far as I'm tracking, it basically looks like instead of going 4 steps after my initiative with a -4 penalty, I can instead go 4 steps after my initiative with a -8 penalty!

Is there some kind of typo here, or have I just wasted development points?

Incidentally, I'll post the character archetype as soon as I can. My GM and I came up with something totally new, tied to the Aluminat church, called the 'Redeemer' that's been a load of fun to play.

Finally I've got over the jet lag and catching up of 'real' work,
so here is some of Gen-Con Indy in pictures.
Many thanks to Marc and MOOSE who supplied all the better shots!

Here is the team at the stand Laura and Garath Skarka, Angus wrapped around Chris and me
(with Marc taking the photo, which we let him do between demos and eating/sleeping :-)
Feel the love that is Cubicle 7!

As this is quite a long one, you can see more behind the LJ cutCollapse )

Thats it for another year.

Victoriana 2nd Edition - PDF Now Available! [Aug. 8th, 2008|12:50 am]

Because releasing the RPGNow Hot List #1 Starblazer Adventures last week wasn't enough...

It is the year 1867, and it is a time of revolution.

The new science has done more than bring incredible technologies into the homes of everyday people. It has brought with it a new way of looking at the world. A way based on observation and logic that threatens the ancient dogma of Aluminat church teachings.

New political ideas are sweeping across Europe. Bismark 'The Iron Chancellor' is uniting the might of Prussia and the social order of Europe is threatened by talk of Communism and Bolshevism. The industrial revolution seems unstoppable. New technology appears at terrifying speed. Machines are being crafted that seem capable of impossible feats. Many worry that mankind is becoming enslaved to the vast industrial machines that belch smoke into the streets of London.

In the supernatural world, the forces of order and chaos clash once more as the planes align. Their eternal battle reaches once more into the hearts and minds of mortals.

You are a part of the revolution, whether you are born to privilege in the salons of the upper classes, or on the streets in the darkened rookeries of the city. Around you is a darkness that lurks not only in the alleys and back streets, but also in the clubs and estates of the rich and powerful.

The power to make a difference is in your hands, it could be money and privilege, science or even sorcery. You have chosen to be on the front line of the new age; but will you fight against the changes or join the revolution?

Welcome to the world of Victoriana.

It's been expecting you.

The Victoriana Core Rulebook contains everything you need to immerse yourself in the incredible world of an 1867 that is both fantastic and familiar.

Art from beneath the waves [Jul. 26th, 2008|06:38 pm]

The excellent Aaron Acevedo is offering several art prints,
to raise cash after getting flooded out at home.

As he's done some sterling work for Victoriana,
('The House' in the Corebook)
and has another one on the way (the cover to one of our next products)
it makes sense to point you all at his LJ posting here:
http://aaronace.livejournal.com/110566.html
Which also has a link to his flicker site where you can check out his work.

Now I just need to convince Mrs Corone we have space on our wall...

We had a fab time at Dragonmeet, as always!
Without doubt the friendliest gaming convention around.
Our big news was that we sold out of the Victoriana Corebook!
We also had some detail on the Starblazer RPG for which Chris ran demo games,
oh, and there was something about a Dr Who RPG licence as well... :-)

Here's us in the trade hall, Exile to the left of us, Postmorten to the right

My camera was on the wrong setting again, but luckily karohemd took several photos of the day. His are the ones that arn't a bit blurry! You can see more under the Read more...Collapse )
